Please help to accelerate brain cancer research
In 2023, there were 1,597 deaths from brain cancer in Australia, and my mum (Mona Girgis) was one of them. It also has a devastating impact on the families and friends of those individuals.
Mum bravely fought glioblastoma for three years, and unfortunately passed away in July of 2023. This year, on Wednesday the 15th of July is Glioblastoma awareness day.
I will be swimming 100km in July in honour of my mum and too many others who have undeservingly had to fight brain cancer. My goal is to raise $5,000 and all funds raised will go towards Brain Cancer Australia.
Today we desperately need major breakthroughs in brain cancer research. It remains one of the most devastating cancers. Any donation would be appreciated to help drive brain cancer research forward, to help develop life-saving treatment and best-practice care for people with brain cancer.
