In memory of Tim Christopoulos — 10 years on.
On 1 August, I’ll be taking on my first ever HYROX, competing solo in Men’s Open Singles at HYROX Istanbul — in the same week my uncle, Tim Christopoulos, passed away 10 years ago from brain cancer.
HYROX is often described as the world’s hardest fitness race — an 8km run broken up by 8 brutal workout stations. Heavy sleds, burpees on destroyed legs, carries that tear at your grip, lunges that burn, and wall balls that demand everything you have left. No teammates. No breaks. Just fatigue, pain, and the decision to keep moving forward. It’s going to hurt.
I’m doing this to turn remembrance into action.
I’m raising money for Brain Cancer Australia to support research and families facing this disease right now. A few hours of discomfort from me is nothing compared to what these families are going through.
