Adam Bray's Run for Brain Cancer

24 Apr 2026

"It’s clear that brain cancer doesn’t just affect one person—it impacts entire support networks. That reality makes it feel close to home and motivates me to do what I can to help.”

Adam Bray

When Adam Bray signed up to run the Ballarat Marathon, he thought it would be a personal challenge. What he didn’t expect was the level of support that would follow.

Friends, family, local businesses and people across his Ballarat community have come together to back Adam as he raises funds for Brain Cancer Australia.

“It’s been amazing to see the support,” Adam said. “I was reluctant at the start to run for a cause, but now I’m so glad I did. The support and funds raised have been incredible, and I’m so grateful it’s going to such an important cause.”

Adam has raised just over $17,000 for Brain Cancer Australia and is continuing to encourage donations ahead of the 42km marathon tomorrow.

“Running a marathon is a huge goal, but combining it with raising awareness and funds gives it a deeper purpose,” he said. “The early mornings and tough sessions all mean more when it’s for something bigger.”

His motivation comes from seeing the impact brain cancer has on individuals and the people around them.

“Whether through people I know personally or stories I’ve come across, it’s clear that brain cancer doesn’t just affect one person—it impacts entire support networks. That reality makes it feel close to home and motivates me to do what I can to help.”

Adam is grateful for every dollar that has been donated.

“The money raised will help support better treatments and give hope to people and families going through a really tough time,” he said.

We are so thankful to Adam and the Ballarat community for supporting Brain Cancer Australia.
